Some primary races in the Hudson Valley will decide the November ballot for some New York state Assembly and Senate races.
In the 98th Assembly District, freshman Republican incumbent Karl Brabenec faces Monroe resident John Allegro. The matchup has been contentious. On the Democratic side Rockland County legislator Aron Weider faces Monroe resident Krystal Serrano. Incumbent Democratic Assemblywoman Ellen Jaffee runs against Airmont Planning Board member Thomas Gulla. And Republicans Kevin Byrne and Suzanne McDonough are in a primary race in the 94th Assembly District, where Republican Steve Katz is not seeking re-election. In the 40th state Senate District, Democrats Alison Boak and Andrew Falk are vying for the chance to unseat Republican Terrence Murphy in November.
