Hudson River Sloop Clearwater has set a date for its re-launch ceremony after having canceled the event July 4.

Clearwater’s re-launch ceremony will be held July 31 at the pier in Cold Spring, in Putnam County. The ceremony was originally scheduled for July 4, but more time needed to go through a project checklist before a U.S. Coast Guard inspection forced the postponement of the re-launch event. Clearwater has passed the inspection and took to the Hudson River for its first education sail of the season July 12.  The ceremony July 31 is at 6 p.m. followed by a public sail at 7. Tickets are required for the sail. The sloop underwent a hull restoration over the winter that cost about $850,000.
