Federal Funds Help Two Fire Departments In Dutchess
Two fire departments in Dutchess County are receiving federal funds for new equipment.
The Village of Fishkill Fire Department will use more than $58,000 for new personal protective equipment, or turnout gear, for firefighters and to replace outdated alerting radios. The Arlington Fire District will receive about $24,500 to replace a 20-year-old fire hose. U.S. Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand along with Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney announced the funding that was allocated through the Department of Homeland Security's Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.
