Dutchess County Executive Marcus Molinaro Thursday announced preliminary grant awards totaling $924,000 to 10 projects. The grants are through the county’s Community Development Block Grant Program.

There is a grant slated for Beacon for the construction of a recreation center pavilion and playground next to the existing recreation center in South Avenue Park and the public housing developments. Beacon also is on tap to receive funding for road rehabilitation in several neighborhoods. The Town of LaGrange plans to expand a playground at Stringham Park to become inclusive, with such features as a swing set with therapeutic seats and a raised sandbox for wheelchair access. The Village of Millerton is set to see funding to install a restroom, featuring composting toilets, along the Harlem Valley Rail Trail. Other communities on tap for grants include Millbrook, Pawling, Tivoli and Wappingers Falls.
