A utility company in the Hudson Valley has a new president.

The Board of Directors of Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation has appointed Michael Mosher as president and CEO of the Poughkeepsie-based utility, effective April 1. He succeeds James Laurito, who has served in the position since 2009 and who has been promoted to executive vice president of parent company Fortis Inc. Mosher, the corporation’s vice president of regulatory affairs, becomes Central Hudson’s tenth president. He also will serve as chief operating officer of CH Energy Group. Laurito, meanwhile, will remain on the Board of Directors of Central Hudson.
