Higher Ed Schools In NY Receive Grants For Capital Projects

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo Monday announced more than $35 million in grants for capital projects at higher education institutions across the state. Some of the colleges are in the Hudson Valley.

The funding is from the Higher Education Capital Matching Grant Program. In Dutchess County, Bard College is receiving $500,000 for renovations to the Center for Curatorial Studies. In Westchester County, The College of New Rochelle is receiving more than $1 million to renovate and equip science labs; and Iona College and Mercy College each are seeing $2.5 million for new residence halls. Some $153,000 is headed to Sarah Lawrence College to purchase and install equipment for its film and new media program.
