Putnam DA Adam Levy Loses GOP Primary

Putnam County District Attorney Adam Levy lost the Republican primary election Thursday to Putnam Valley Supervisor Robert Tendy.

Tendy tallied 1,361 votes to Levy’s 1,094.

Despite the GOP line loss, Levy will still be on the general election ballot, running on the Conservative, Independence and an independent party line. “The war is far from over. Tonight was just a skirmish,” Levy told supporters.

“The people of Putnam County know the issues,” Tendy told his backers. “Money won’t change what they know. I am very concerned about the justice system found in Putnam County.” He said if elected, the new DA’s office “will be ethical, professional, cordial and trustworthy under my administration.”

When the final numbers were posted late Thursday night, Levy told his supporters, including his mother, Judge Judy, that he is “invigorated because from now until November we will fight and I talk facts, not fiction.”
