Stewart International Airport in the Hudson Valley is getting $1.7 million for runway improvements.

Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney says the money from the Federal Aviation Administration will be used to repave and rehabilitate Stewart's two runways.

The congressman says the improvements will attract more flights and businesses to the airport 55 miles north of New York City.

Stewart is operated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
