Police say a 24-year-old New York woman has died after her scooter collided with another vehicle on a Hudson Valley road.
The Columbia County Sheriff's Office says Caitlin Briggs of Livingston was driving her Honda scooter on Route 9G in the neighboring town of Germantown around 3 Monday afternoon when for an unknown reason she veered into oncoming traffic. Deputies say her moped hit a sport utility vehicle. Briggs was pronounced dead at the scene. Two people in the SUV were checked out at the scene. Debris from the impact hit two other vehicles whose drivers were also checked out at the scene. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
