Westchester County has a new director of the Veterans Service Agency - a former New York assemblyman.
Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino Friday announced the appointment of Ron Tocci as the county’s new Director of the Veterans Service Agency. Tocci is a lifelong resident of New Rochelle, veteran, and former Democratic Assemblyman. After serving in the Assembly, Tocci was been appointed by then Governor George Pataki to serve as the state’s commissioner for Veterans Affairs. Tocci takes over for Vito Pinto, another Democrat, who steps down from the post on March 31. Astorino, a Republican, says, quote, “Replacing Vito Pinto with Ron Tocci is like replacing Joe DiMaggio with Mickey Mantle.”
