Bestselling Author Talks About Foster Care in NYS

Regina Calcaterra is the author of the New York Times bestselling memoir Etched in Sand: A True Story of Five Siblings Who Survived an Unspeakable Childhood on Long Island. Calcaterra, a public and private sector attorney who has held high-ranking appointed positions in New York State government, recently served as executive director of the Moreland Commission to Investigate Public Corruption and was executive director of the Moreland Commission on Utility Storm Preparation and Response post Hurricane Sandy. She is a foster care advocate and recipient of numerous humanitarian awards. WAMC’s Hudson Valley Bureau Chief Allison Dunne caught up with her at an International Women’s Day event in Saratoga Springs, and asked what it meant to deliver a talk on that day.
