A longtime president of a college in Poughkeepsie, New York is retiring.

Marist College President Dennis Murray announced Saturday that he will retire when his current contract expires on June 30, 2016. At the request of the Marist Board of Trustees, Murray will stay on in the traditional post-presidency role of president emeritus and as professor of public policy. Murray says the next 18 months will be a time of continued growth at Marist with construction of a new science and allied health building and development of the new Physician Assistant program, as well as a new student housing project.  In the coming weeks, the Board of Trustees will share details of the timing and organization of a search for Dr. Murray’s successor.
