A New York congressman Tuesday announced a coalition that has formed to support his re-election in the 19th District.
The Chris Gibson for Congress Campaign announced the launch of an Agriculture Coalition in support of the Republican congressman’s re-election. The launch took place in Delaware County, at Robert and Joyce Bishop’s farm in Hamden. Robert Bishop will serve as leader of the coalition. Gibson, member of the House Agriculture Committee, voted in favor of the bipartisan Farm Bill signed into law by President Obama earlier this year. Dairy farmers praised the Farm Bill’s dairy provisions that Gibson supported. Gibson’s Democratic opponent, Sean Eldridge, most recently secured endorsements from several labor groups and environmental group Sierra Club.
