Lincoln Center Will Stream Seeger Fest Concert

New York City’s Lincoln Center says it will offer a live stream from a weekend memorial concert for Pete Seeger and his wife Toshi. The concert is Seeger Fest.

The free concert will be held Sunday at Lincoln Center's Damrosch Park. It will feature artists and speakers who had a close relationship with the Seegers, including Judy Collins, Harry Belafonte, Dar Williams, Peter Yarrow, Holly Near and Tom Chapin.  Seeger loved to lead sing-alongs and, in this spirit, Lincoln Center is inviting audiences to take part in a global online sing-along. A song will be selected later this week and lyrics will be available on-screen. Pete Seeger died in January; Toshi Seeger in July 2013.

Seeger Fest is five days of remembrance, music, and action, with events in the Hudson Valley and New York City. It begins Thursday evening, July 17, at Hudson River Park on Pier 46 in Manhattan with the documentary, Pete Seeger: The Power of Song.
