Saratoga Casino and Raceway

The developer of one of the proposed casinos for Orange County has signed agreements with cities and school districts on both sides of the Hudson River.

The developer for the proposed Hudson Valley Casino & Resort in the Town of Newburgh has established agreements for annual contributions to the cities of Beacon and Middletown along with the Marlboro, Valley Central, and Wallkill school districts. In the memorandums of understanding with the cities of Beacon and Middletown, Hudson Valley Casino & Resort says it will establish at least one hiring hall in each city for construction jobs at the casino, and one hiring hall in each city for operational jobs. Additionally, the casino pledged a $200,000 annual contribution to Beacon, and a $175,000 annual contribution to Middletown, for seven years. The MOUs with the school districts focus on funding sports, arts, and student programs.
