Wikimedia Commons

In a New York congressional district that spans 11 counties, second-quarter fundraising amounts are being reported.

Republican Congressman Chris Gibson raised $819,000 in the second quarter while Democrat Sean Eldridge raised more than $770,000, about one-half of which was matched by Eldridge himself. The race in the 19th Congressional District has Gibson with $1.91 million cash on hand and Eldridge with more than $2.1 million cash on hand. Gibson says that 86 percent of contributions for his campaign for the second quarter were from individuals. Eldridge, who did not accept any donations from corporate PACs, says more than 77 percent of second-quarter contributions to his campaign were $50 or less.
