A bridge in the Hudson Valley will be renamed in honor of local veterans.

Republican New York state Senator Greg Ball, who is chairman of the Senate Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs Committee, says Governor Andrew Cuomo has signed legislation that will designate a bridge in the Hudson Valley to honor local, disabled veterans. The legislation designates the bridge span on Bryant Pond Road, crossing the Taconic State Parkway, in Putnam County as the “Disabled American Veterans Memorial Bridge.” Republican William Larkin and Democrat Terry Gipson were co-sponsors in the Senate. Democrat Sandy Galef sponsored the legislation in the Assembly.
