The team behind the only proposed resort casino for Ulster County unveiled the design and other details Thursday, merging the old with the new.

The $640 million proposed Nevele Resort, Casino & Spa is described as “neo deco”, reflecting the history of the famed Catskills resort that once drew more than 100,000 visitors per year. Situated on 500 acres at the foot of the Shawangunk Mountains, the plans are for 446 guest rooms and suites; a casino, spa and fitness center; restaurants and a food hall featuring Hudson Valley wines, farm-to-table and locally-sourced, organic foods; a redesigned championship golf course; an ice arena; skiing, and other recreation facilities. The proposed casino resort retains two of the Nevele’s original structures – the nine-story round tower of rooms and the ski chalet.
