In New York, the Westchester County executive who was just re-elected to a second term says he plans to continue the fiscal agenda from his first term.
Republican Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino scored a decisive win over Democratic New Rochelle Mayor Noam Bramson, a win he attributes to cutting spending and keeping taxes low. He says expect more of the same in the second term.
He also says he plans to work with his new neighbor - New York City’s Democratic Mayor Elect Bill de Blasio.
Astorino won re-election in a county where Democratic voters outnumber Republican voters by at least a 2-to-1 margin.
