NYS Senator Holds Unfunded Mandates Roundtable

A New York state senator from the Hudson Valley is holding a roundtable  Saturday on unfunded mandates.

Republican state Senator Greg Ball says more than 40 officials will participate in his emergency unfunded mandate and tax relief roundtable, including fellow Republican state Senator John Flanagan, chairman of the Senate Committee on Education. Ball says unfunded mandates are crushing local governments and school districts. To help combat this, he has developed a Mandate Relief Advisory Council, which is chaired by Republican Dutchess County Legislature Chairman Rob Rolison. The council and Mahopac Central School District superintendent are hosting the roundtable at Mahopac High School in Putnam County. Democratic Assemblywoman Sandy Galef, area town supervisors, county legislators, school administrators and others will be on hand for the roundtable that begins at 11.
