Millennium Aims To Put Minisink Compressor Station Online May 15

Millennium Pipeline Company has written to a federal agency asking to put a compressor station in New York’s Orange County into service.

Rockland County-based Millennium is asking the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, or FERC, permission to start the Minisink natural gas compressor station in a few weeks. Steve Sullivan is a spokesman for Millennium.

The compressor station is built on a rural, residential road in the Hamlet of Westtown, where many 9/11 first responders reside. Opponents have a case before the U.S. Court of Appeals challenging FERC’s approval of the project. The same court in March denied a motion by Millennium to have the case dismissed. At the same time, the court denied a request by opponents to halt construction of the compressor station.
