Repair Cafe at the Austerlitz Town Hall
Repair Cafe at the Austerlitz Town Hall
Got a toaster that won’t toast? Jeans with a torn seam? A chair with a loose leg? Don’t toss it—repair it! On April 13, visit the Austerlitz Town Hall (816 Route 203, Spencertown NY 12165), to have your broken items mended by your skilled neighbors. At this Repair Cafe, repair coaches will work on: clocks, lamps, lawn mowers and other motors, mending of clothing and other textiles, jewelry, small wood furniture and more. Please note: clothing or textiles to be mended must be clean. There will also be a gardening expert onsite and a 3D printer to replace plastic parts.
A Repair Cafe event is a community and volunteer-run activity that is free to all. Local fixers rewire lamps and repair vacuum cleaners to divert items with more life in them from going into the landfill. These events impart lifelong valuable fixing skills and bring neighbors together to help one another.
