Nine Good Teeth

Nine Good Teeth

Nine Good Teeth is a hilarious and loving portrait of Mary Mirabito, who also happens to be the filmmaker’s outspoken 102-year-old grandmother. As the family’s fiercely independent matriarch, Nana gives it all up for the camera and prosperity— dispensing homespun wisdom, divulging family secrets and rivalries, including late night visits from Jack Kerouac, illicit love affairs and the occasional murder.

Director Alex Halpern’s award-winning documentary is a vibrant celebration of life filled to the brim with the warmth of a grandmother’s embrace. Masterfully composed and edited, his film capture the memories, the culture and the history of a generation which gave us much to cherish.

Post-screening discussion with Alex Halpern and Caryn Horowitz moderated by Caren Martineau, founder of Bevival.com and the Celebrating Aging Series.
