Marathon public reading of William Kennedy's 1975 novel Legs

Marathon public reading of William Kennedy's 1975 novel Legs

Raise a glass to William Kennedy, beloved Writers Institute founder and Albany’s greatest storyteller, at a special marathon reading of Legs (1975), the novel that launched his “Albany Cycle.” Presented by the NYS Writers Institute.

Join us anytime between noon and 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, to hear the 1975 novel Legs read aloud by fans, friends, and fellow writers. Or sign up to read a short excerpt yourself and be part of this unique tribute to Kennedy’s storytelling legacy.

Want to join the reading? Readers are asked to sign up and select a time slot by Friday, Oct. 31.

Just want to listen? No registration is needed to attend. The event is free and open to the public. Drop in anytime from noon to 8 p.m.

Donations will be collected at the door to benefit the food pantry and free meal outreach at Sacred Heart Church, 33 Walter St. in Albany, which was Kennedy’s childhood parish.
