Household Objects: New Work by Julia Zanes
Vermont painter Julia Zanes named her new series of paintings Household Objects in homage to Grimm’s Fairy Tales, which were originally published as Children’s & Household Tales. Her colorful paintings, using both real 23 karat gold and composition leaf, evoke secular icons, “Something you could put in the corner of the kitchen and be reminded of something big and mysterious. Yet it is ordinary, like bread.”
