“Herkimer! How My Ignorant Immigrant Ancestors Saved America and You Can Too”

“Herkimer! How My Ignorant Immigrant Ancestors Saved America and You Can Too”

As part of SoloFest 2026, Bridge Street Theatre in Catskill presents “Herkimer! How My Ignorant Immigrant Ancestors Saved America and You Can Too,” a funny, moving, and deeply personal solo performance by award-winning writer/performer Ned Averill-Snell.
Blending family history, Upstate New York Revolutionary War storytelling, and contemporary reflection, the piece explores a little-known local battle that helped change the course of American history. Through humor, insight, and personal connection, Averill-Snell examines identity, heritage, resilience, and the surprising ways the past continues to shape the present — while asking what these stories might reveal about America today.
Directed by Timothy Dunn, this engaging and thoughtful work is both entertaining and meaningful.

March 13–15: Fri & Sat 7pm, Sun 2pm.
Tickets $30 adults / $25 students.
