Free People Read Freely: A Banned Books Week Call to Action

Concerned about book banning and all of its implications?

On October 8th @ 4:30 in Neilson 102, join Smith’s new Dean of Libraries, Nancy Kirkpatrick, JD, MS, in conversation with Kathleen McEvoy, Senior Policy Fellow of The EveryLibrary Institute and Julia Garnett, class of 2028, to discuss an important recent legal case Little vs. Llano County. This event is free, open to the public, and refreshments will be served. To attend online, register at the ticketing link below.

And then take action by writing to your elected officials with postcards of historically banned books provided by Special Collections.

This event is a joint effort of Smith Libraries and the Massachusetts Center for the Book.
