After 25 years as president and chief executive officer of Albany Medical Center, James Barba will step down next year. Barba, who joined the Albany Med Board 40 years ago, will leave March 31, 2020. The hospital says his successor will likely be announced this summer.
Barba tells WAMC’s Brian Shields the decision to retire was actually made two years ago.
