Niskayuna Native Saves More Than 60 Lives In Orlando Shooting

A Niskayuna, New York native is being touted as a hero following the mass shooting at a nightclub in Orlando. 

CBS News reports that Imran Yousuf opened a backdoor in the club which helped more than 60 people escape gunfire from the shooter. Yousuf is a Niskayuna High School graduate and Marine Corps veteran, who was working as security at the venue when the gunman opened fire.

49 people died at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, the biggest mass shooting in modern American history.
