Los Angeles' Milo Greene are an effusive indie pop ensemble known for their hooky sound and penchant for sharing lead-vocal duties between each band member. Emerging in 2012, the band displayed their harmony-infused sound on the eponymous debut which hit number one on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. Three years later, they returned with their sophomore full-length, “Control.” A departure from their folky sound, it showcased a move toward a synth-accented approach, influenced by '80s-style new wave and R&B. This concert is from 2013 in support of that first Heatseeking self-titled album. The band is still making music today but with a changed line up and released the sophisticated “Adult Contemporary” in 2018, included the single "Move."  Now, here we go, from 2013 recorder live at The Linda is Milo Greene.

There are a number of Capital Region legendary favorite bands. That list would likely include Blotto, The McKrells, and in this hosts estimation, certainly The Figgs. Formed in 1987 in Saratoga Springs,  Mike Gent (guitar, vocals), Pete Donnelly (bass), Pete Hayes (drums), and Guy Lyons (lead guitar) were power pop and brash punk freaks, recklessly mixing elements of each but rarely losing sight of a solid hook. The combo issued 7" and cassette releases for “Absolute-A-Go-Go” before making their official debut with the 1994 LP “Low-Fi at Society High.” Originally known as the sonic undertones, their output includes 13 studio albums and multiple EPs and singles. They’ve served as the backing band for rock and roll legend Graham Parker on and off since 1996 and also toured with Tommy Stinson of The Replacements fame. Now I first saw The Figgs back in 1991 at the old QE2 here in Albany. This concert was recorded in 2010 here at The Linda. Let’s get into the vault with The Figgs.
