FreshGrass Bluegrass Festival 2014

FreshGrass is a three day festival rich in both traditional and cutting-edge bluegrass, presented in a wide array of venues tucked into MASS MoCA’s 19th-century factory turned 21st-century museum.

More than 40 bands will play on MASS MoCA’s four stages this coming weekend, Friday through Sunday. Elsewhere on campus, instrument-specific workshops and industry seminars will be offered in conjunction with Berklee College of Music and its American Roots Program, often featuring guest musicians from the festival.

Just a few names picked from the line-up are Emmylou Harris, Railroad Earth, The Carolina Chocolate Drops, Béla Fleck and Abigail Washburn, Sam Bush, The Infamous Stringdusters, and Sam Amidon.

Here to tell us more are Sue Killam, MASS MoCA’s Managing Director of Performing Arts + Film and Jodi Joseph, Director of Communications.

Joe talks to people on the radio for a living. In addition to countless impressive human "gets" - he has talked to a lot of Muppets. Joe grew up in Philadelphia, has been on the area airwaves for more than 25 years and currently lives in Washington County, NY with his wife, Kelly, and their dog, Brady. And yes, he reads every single book.
