Fred Applegate in "Anything Goes" at Proctors

The Roundabout Theatre Company’s production of Anything Goes, winner of three 2011 Tony Awards including Best Musical Revival and Choreography, opened last night at Proctors in Schenctady and runs through Sunday.

One of the greatest musicals in theater history, Cole Porter’s first-class musical comedy comes here following a triumphant run on Broadway where The New York Times called it “Musical-comedy joe" and USA Today hailed it as "Glorious and exhuberant!"

In addition to the title song, the show includes the Porter classics “I Get a Kick Out of You,” “De-Lovely,” “You’re the Top,” “Friendship,” “Easy To Love” and more!

Fred Applegate plays Moonface Martin in the show and joins us this morning. Fred has starred in London and on Broadway as Max Bialystock in The Producers. His Broadway credits include Sister Act, La Cage aux Folles, Young Frankenstein, and The Sound of Music.

Joe talks to people on the radio for a living. In addition to countless impressive human "gets" - he has talked to a lot of Muppets. Joe grew up in Philadelphia, has been on the area airwaves for more than 25 years and currently lives in Washington County, NY with his wife, Kelly, and their dog, Brady. And yes, he reads every single book.
