Albany, NY – In today's Academic Minute, Professor Allan Hutchinson of York University reveals the principles of common law that provide the core of most legal systems.

Allan Hutchinson is Distinguished Research Professor at York University's Osgoode Hall Law School and a legal theorist with an international reputation for his original publications. He was elected to the Royal Society of Canada in 2004 and named a Distinguished Research Professor by York University in 2006. His research interests are law and politics; legal theory; the legal profession; constitutional law; torts; jurisprudence; civil procedure; and racism and law.
