Former gymnast Rachael Denhollander told The Indianapolis Star in 2016 that Dr. Larry Nassar had molested her when she was a child. She became the first woman to publicly accuse Nassar of sexual abuse.
A team of investigative journalists at the paper went on to report Nassar had disguised sexual abuse as medical treatment for decades — crimes for which he was sentenced to 40 to 175 years in prison this week.
Here & Now‘s Jeremy Hobson talks with the team of Indianapolis Star reporters who broke the story: Tim Evans (@starwatchtim), Marisa Kwiatkowski (@IndyMarisaK) and Mark Alesia (@markalesia).
