Tim Tebow To Become Patriots Newest Member

Well, Tim Tebow’s NFL career is not quite over.

ESPN reported Monday that Tebow will sign with the New England Patriots. A person familiar with the situation says Tebow is planning to join the Patriots at their minicamp on Tuesday. The New York Jets released Tebow in April.

Meanwhile, Game 3 of the NBA finals between the Spurs and Miami Heat gets on tonight at 9 p.m. The series is tied at 1-1.

Jason Kidd made his pitch to the Brooklyn Nets about becoming head coach official. Kidd is proposing to stock his bench with veteran coaches, including former head coach Lawrence Frank.

Moving over to baseball news, the Red Sox had quite a night. Boston blew leads of 6-0 and 8-6 before Daniel Nava and Jarrod Saltalamacchia hit RBi singles in the 14th inning to lead a 10-8 win over Tampa Bay. Saltalamacchia went 4-for-7 with three RBIs to lead the Red Sox's 15-hit attack.

Elsewhere in the American League, Baltimore beat the Angels 4-3. Texas doubled up Cleveland 6-3. It was Kansas City over Detroit 3-2. Toronto fell to the White Sox 10-6 and Seattle defeated Houston 3-2.

In the National League, Milwaukee topped Miami 6-1. Cincinnati bested the Cubs 6-2. Arizona edged ahead of the Dodgers 5-4 and San Diego beat Atlanta 7-6.

Finally in golf news, more heavy rain at Merion Golf Club flooded a bunker by the 11th green and filled fairways with large puddles and tiny streams, three days before the start of the U.S. Open.
