Plattsburgh, NY – Last year, U.S. Representatives John McHugh and Louise Slaughter of New York asked the General Accounting Office to study the potential impact of the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative, which would impose strict I-D requirements when crossing the border. The two representatives released the agency's initial report today (Wednesday) saying the findings reinforce northern border communities concerns.
