Albqany, NY – Alan Chartock is joined by Dr. Robert Baker, Director of the Union Graduate College Bioethics Program to discuss medical ethics.
A Bronx-born New Yorker, Robert Baker earned a BA with Honors in History from the City College of New York and a PhD in philosophy from the University of Minnesota. He co-edited the just released Cambridge World History of Medical Ethics, the first comprehensive scholarly account of the global history of medical ethics. He has also authored, co-authored, edited or co-edited several books and government reports, including the award-winning American Medical Ethics Revolution (Johns Hopkins, 1999). Baker has published in such journals as the American Journal of Bioethics, Cambridge Healthcare Quarterly, The Hastings Center Report, JAMA, The Journal of Medicine and Philosophy, The Kennedy Institute of Ethics Journal and Medical History.
