After missing this season due to an undisclosed health problem, Iona College men’s basketball coach Tim Cluess is stepping down. The private college in New Rochelle announced the move Friday, one day after the NCAA Tournament was called off due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Cluess won five MAAC tournament championships over 10 years with the Gaels. He spoke with WAMC just after winning his fourth straight title in 2019:

“I’m just so blessed to do what I do. I truly believe god has blessed me by having this opportunity and we want to set a bar now for someone else to try to beat,” he said.
