Concert To Honor Paul Elisha

The University at Albany Department of Music and Theatre will honor the late Paul Elisha on Monday. The poet, musician, veteran, activist, journalist, radio host, and familiar voice on WAMC passed away in August.

Monday's program called Twenty Drummers Drummin' will feature a performance of "Drums and Echoes," a work composed by Elisha and Richard Albagli, Principal Percussionist with the Albany Symphony Orchestra, co-founder of the Adirondack Percussion Ensemble, and a member of the music faculties of the University at Albany and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

WAMC's Lucas Willard spoke to Albagli about the piece written in remembrance of World War II.

For tickets and information contact the Performing Arts Center Box Office at (518) 442-3997 or visit the Performing Arts Center website at www.albany.edu/pac.

Lucas Willard is a news reporter and host at WAMC Northeast Public Radio, which he joined in 2011. He produces and hosts The Best of Our Knowledge and WAMC Listening Party.
