NED Pipeline - Community Health Forum On Nassau Compressor Station

Concerned citizens living on Burden Lake and in the surrounding towns of Nassau and Sand Lake are holding a community forum tonight to fight the proposed location of a compressor station in Nassau.

A 41,000 horsepower compressor station that would push gas through the proposed Northeast Energy Direct natural gas pipeline would be built along Clark's Chapel Road in Nassau, less than 2,000 feet from Burden Lake. Cherisse Young is a member of the Save Burden Lake Group, concerned about the impact such an installation would have on local residents.

"These large compressor stations have very significant health impacts that have yet to be studied."

The meeting is being held tonight at 7 at the Burden Lake Country Club in Averill Park.
