NY Senate Leader Skelos And Son Expected To Be Arrested As Early As Today

Skelos

New York State Senate Leader Dean Skelos and his son Adam are facing arrest as early as today in a federal corruption investigation. The New York Times reports that the criminal complaint against Skelos and his son will most likely include conspiracy, extortion and solicitation of bribes. The Times reports it’s not clear whether Skelos will step down. Prosecutors have focused on areas including a contract that Nassau County, Senator Skelos’ district, awarded to a small environmental Arizona based company AbTech despite the fact that, according to the Times, the proposal was not the low bid submitted to the county. Prosecutors have also focused on a 20,000 payment that a title insurance company, American Land Services, made to Adam Skelos, even thought he never worked for the company.
