South Royalton, VT – The Vermont Law School top 10 Environmental Watch List highlights the most critical national environmental law and policy issues over the past year and their potential impact in 2012. Number one is Republican attacks on the EPA, followed by the White House and EPA clash over ozone standards. The remainder of the list includes coal mining, Fukishima, greenhouse gas and climate change regulations. Although it is a growing issue, fracking is not on the Law School's top ten list. Professor of Law and List Editor Pat Parenteau. Pat Parenteau says the list is a mix of environmental successes and concerns. Vermont Natural Resources Council Spokesman Jake Brown says while the list looks at national issues, several impact the Northeast. Adirondack Mountain Club Executive Director Neil Woodworth found the watch list bad news for the Northeast, especially in regard to Clean Air issues.
