Boston, MA – The unemployment remained unchanged in Massachusetts in October, but the state economy added jobs. WAMC's Paul Tuthill reports...
The 7.3 percent unemployment rate, unchanged since September, remains the lowest monthly rate in Massachusetts in almost three years.
According to the report Thursday from the Massachusetts Department of Labor and Workforce Development, the state gained 10,800 jobs last month. Jobs were added in eight of the ten major private sectors, including health services, education, financial services and construction.
The gain followed job losses in both August and September.
