Boston, MA – Massachusetts Democratic Senate hopeful Elizabeth Warren is defending comments she made praising President Obama for taking a "nuanced response" to Iran. WAMC's Tristan O'Neill reports...

Warren made the comments Sunday on WCBV-TV. Warren said later that it is important to build the right coalition in the region to deal with potential threat of Iran developing nuclear weapons.

The Massachusetts Republican Party criticized Warren's comments as "perplexing and extremely troubling," saying the U.S. needs to take a strong stance on the issue.

Warren spoke to reporters Sunday after meeting with about 1,000 supporters in Boston. Her campaign said it was the largest turnout of eight recent organizing meetings.

Warren hopes to unseat Republican incumbent Senator Scott Brown. He spent Sunday attending the opening ceremony for Massachusetts Special Olympics at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough and visiting the Boston Walk to Defeat ALS.
