Twenty two-year-old mayor-elect Alex Morse, set to become the youngest chief executive in Holyoke's history, says he's planning to assemble a transition team of experts in education, economic development and public safety.
"People with experience. People with new ideas," said Morse. "Put those pieces together so on Day 1 we can hit the ground running."
And Morse says his top priority is to market Holyoke.
"We are creating a state-of-the-art marketing plan, making sure we're telling businesses here in the city and across the country and the state, that Holyoke's a great place to do business," Morse said. "That we have a lot of great assets, a lot of great resources - number one for business and number two for new residents."
Morse opposes a casino project in Holyoke, but the developers say his election won't deter their plans.
