Springfield, MA – The unemployment rate in Massachusetts remained unchanged in July even as the state's economy added jobs. WAMC's Paul Tuthill reports..
The unemployment rate in Massachusetts has remained at 7.6 percent for three consecutive months. The national unemployment rate is 9.1 percent.
Konrad Rogowski, manager of career services at the Future Works Career Center in Springfield, says July saw a drop in job postings, jobs filled, and job seekers...
"This slowdown... We're just taking a look at it very cautiously to see whether this is going to be a trend, or just kind of a blip in the progress," said Rogowski.
The Massachusetts office of labor and Workforce Development says 12,700 jobs were added last month. Six of ten private sector areas had gains.
