Boston, MA – The latest Democrat to enter the 2012 U.S. Senate campaign in Massachusetts says Republican Incumbent Scott Brown has failed to lead on any issues. WAMC's Paul Tuthill reports...
Alan Khazei believes Brown's popularity in the polls will fade when voters examine his short record as a U.S. Senator. Khazei also rejects the contention that it will take a big name Democrat to defeat Brown.
The Democratic field consists so far of Bob Massie, a former nominee for lieutenant governor, and Marissa DeFranco, an immigration lawyer.
Khazei was in Springfield Thursday as part of statewide campaign kick-off tour. He says he's focusing on identifying means for job creation. Khazei finished third in the four-way Democratic primary that preceded last year's special election to fill the unexpired term of Edward Kennedy. He said he will pay off his debt from that first campaign very soon.
