Montpelier, VT – Attorney General William Sorrell has released the Vermont Healthy Weight Initiative - a series of policy, legal and program changes to fight obesity. A keystone of the initiative is a penny per ounce excise tax on sugar sweetened beverages, including soda and sports and energy drinks. WAMC North Country Bureau Chief Pat Bradley has more.
