Montpelier, VT – A new national report says Massachusetts has the second-lowest adult obesity rate in New England. But the Trust for America's Health and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation report that obesity rates in New England are rising. About 22 percent of Massachusetts adults were obese, second to Connecticut's 21 percent. Connecticut's rate was the second-lowest in the country to Colorado's 19 percent, while Mississippi had the worst rate, nearly 34 percent.
