On November 18, American Opera Projects (AOP) First Chance and the Hudson Area Library will present a staged reading of Act II of the new opera A Thousand Splendid Suns, by composer Sheila Silver and librettist Stephen Kitsakos. A Thousand Splendid Suns is scheduled for a World Premiere by the Seattle Opera in 2020 and a workshop performance of Act I was presented in New York last year at Trinity Church. The performance of Act II at Hudson Area Library in Hudson, NY will include an introduction before the action of the act begins.

Based on the international best-selling novel by Khaled Hosseini and set in Afghanistan from the mid-1970’s to the present era, A Thousand Splendid Suns is a universal story of love, passion, sacrifice and spiritual transcendence.

Joe talks to people on the radio for a living. In addition to countless impressive human "gets" - he has talked to a lot of Muppets. Joe grew up in Philadelphia, has been on the area airwaves for more than 25 years and currently lives in Washington County, NY with his wife, Kelly, and their dog, Brady. And yes, he reads every single book.
